In case you missed it, yesterday was the Iowa Bacon Festival. Now, I don’t know about you, but when I first stumbled across this article, it took me about 5 minutes to come to grips with the fact that there is actually a festival entirely devoted to bacon (of all things).
During this festival, attendees were presented with the opportunity to attend “Bacon Educational Lectures”, taste unlimited bacon samples from around the world, and meet members of the Iowa Bacon Board. More than 10,000 pounds of bacon were served and consumed at this one-day event, and the 8,000 available tickets sold out in a mere 3 minutes.
In a day and age where people often complain about being too busy with their daily lives to pray and study the Word, it’s shocking to consider the fact that thousands of people sacrificed their time and money to travel from all parts of the country for a festival honoring bacon. The article that I linked to above is something that you’ll just have to read for yourself to believe, but this quote from attendee Katie Nordquist pretty much says it all: “I love bacon more than I love my job.”
What Does Scripture Say About Eating Bacon?
I think it’s safe to say that a fairly significant percentage of Iowa Bacon Festival attendees would probably consider themselves to be “believers”. They own Bibles and many may even go to church, but sadly they’ve been deceived into believing that something the Father said was an abomination (eating bacon) is now perfectly acceptable…
Leviticus 11:7 “And the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. 8 Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They are unclean to you.”
The fact of the matter is, our Creator does not change, and something that He said was harmful for us in the beginning of the Book is still harmful for us today — no matter what modern day mainstream religion is teaching. It is truly time for the body of Messiah to return to His ways (the Torah), and cast off the worthless false doctrines and traditions of man. Enjoy the video…
