In case you missed it, yesterday was the Iowa Bacon Festival. Now, I don’t know about you, but when I first stumbled across this article, it took me about 5 minutes to come to grips with the fact that there is actually a festival entirely devoted to bacon (of all things). During this festival, attendees were presented with the opportunity to attend “Bacon Educational Lectures”, taste unlimited bacon samples from around the world, and meet members of the Iowa Bacon Board. More than 10,000 pounds of bacon were served and consumed at this one-day event, and the 8,000 available tickets sold out in a mere 3 minutes. Scripture is filled with examples of rebellion and stiff-neckedness, and it’s important that we as believers learn from these stories and remain both humble and teachable. It’s no mistake that YHWH’s people are referred to in Scripture as “children” — we should never, ever mistakenly believe that we’ve got all the answers, and as a result, reject needed correction. The following video is a classic example of the attitude we see on display among many so-called believers today. People have grown up being taught that our Creator’s guidelines and instructions have been done away with, and upon being presented with the reality that this is not the case, strong reactions often follow.
