119 Ministries has just released the long-awaited part 3 of their Pauline Paradox series. This teaching is titled, “Why is Paul so Difficult to Understand?”. When trying to understand the writings of Paul, it is absolutely critical that these books are interpreted through the lenses that the rest of Scripture provides. Reading Paul’s writings without taking the whole of Scripture into account will almost certainly result in grave misunderstandings which Peter said in 2 Peter 3 will result in destruction. Coming into the true understanding of who we are as believers is absolutely critical to one’s faith. If we are confused even the slightest about our true identity, it will dramatically alter how we read and interpret the vast majority of Scripture. Most have been raised with the belief that they are part of the “gentile church”, but the fact of the matter is, the “New Covenant” described in Jeremiah 31 and Hebrews 8 is only between YHWH and Israel.
